TawnyTawny grew up in a small town in North Carolina called Ellerbe. She always had a love for dance even when before she had any professional teaching. Tawny would create her own Broadway dance musicals using music from all the great movies. Her parents knew she was a natural. By the time she was a teenager she had choreographed dozens of dance routines for individuals, duos, trios and even small groups. She made side money putting together shows for local dance studios in the areas and slowly started to build reputation as one of the best choreographers around. Years of freelancing choreography for others finally gave Tawny a large enough following to open a small 1200 square ft dance studio. She offered a wide range of dance classes from Ballet to Jazz and even a Hiphop class! Her small town dance studio brought in students from all over, even some that were over an hour away! 2009 everything came to a sudden end when Tawny was diagnosed with Epilepsy (Seizure Disorder). She no longer could continue to teach dance and had to close down the studio. To continue her passion for dance she started Voice of Dance and the rest is history.
